The Llandaff Society Civic Excellence Award is awarded annually for the best example of architectural or design excellence; social and/or economic improvement; sensitive conservation and restoration; positive community impact; or initiative in the care of the environment of Llandaff, Cardiff.
Peter Reynolds Properties undertook the extension, restoration and fit out of the property known as Trenewydd on behalf of Acorns Nurseries in 2020. Trenewydd was originally built in 1889 and comprises a substantial three-storey property. Initially built as a private residence, the property has been used as offices for a number of years by the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board prior to Acorns Nurseries opening the doors in September 2021.
The nursery has been fully operational for over a year now and it is great to see the restoration work recognised by the Llandaff Society (and we’ll say no more about their initial objections to planning).
